Chervil
This iconic herb is a French staple with a delicate aniseed flavour and fine textured leaves.
Chervil is delicate herb related to Parsley that is famously very very French. It is native to the Caucasus and Anatolia, where it was first cultivated before being introduced to Europe.
It smells a little bit like aniseed, but is much more subtle than Tarragon. Its such a delicate herb in flavour and in texture. After harvesting it this morning I thought , no wonder this isnt readily available fresh everywhere like other herbs, its so dainty and wouldnt hold up well in long transport, in storage or even just out for a day on the shelves in ambient temps.
The flavour of Chervil is iconic in omelettes, soups and fresh salads. We’ll be eating our bunch in a carrot, butter bean soup, chopped up and thrown on top as we serve it. We hope you enjoy good people.
